Silage additives

High performance at reasonable costs is only possible if the forage is of highest quality. In line with this, do not only consider the silage's NEL or quantity, but also observe crucial factors like: quality of nutrients (carotenoids, vitamins, amino acids, carbohydrates), palatability, digestiblity and storability.

As global leader in manufacturing lactic acid bacteria, Chr. Hansen offers various silage additives that have a positive influence on the above-mentioned parameters.

When selecting the strains of lactic acid bacteria for an additive, the emphasis is put on their ability to inhibit yeasts in a homofermentative way (i. e. without increasing the content of acetic acid), in order to improve palatabilty and digestibility as well as the stability after opening.

Based on this dual mechanism of action, these products are suitable for many different types of forages and conditions.
