The best filling: gravel instead of sand!

Advantages:

• doesn´t absorb water

• stays smooth but firm and flexible

• doesn´t freeze solid in winter and
  isn´t washed out by rain

Filling:

• easy to handle when filled to about 75%

• Optimal filling amount: see arrow

Optimal:

• adapts optimally to the silo´s uneven surface

In short:

• fill with gravel (grain size 0/8)
  without sand portions  
  do not use grit

• can also be filled with custormary gravel up to 16 mm max.
