Box and stable mats

In their natural environment cattle walk and lie on pasture and sand. Not only the average step length but also the total distance covered is considerably higher on pasture than in the stable, because the cows have to walk more carefully on slippery floors in the stable. Cows in heat display their heat more clearly and distinctly on soft, slip-proof surface because it offers a better grip e.g. for mounting.

Cows need a soft and non-slip surface in order to get up from their lying position or to lie down for rumination without difficulties. The quality of the box´s surface can be tested by the so-called "kneeling-test" in which you fall down on your knees from a standing position. This should be possible without hurting oneself. 

Box and stable mats contribute extensively to a heightened sense of comfort and enables cattle to move as naturally as can be.
