Silage additives

High performance to a reasonable price can only be achieved with high-quality silage additives. Not only NEL-values (net energy of lactation) or the quantity of silage should be evaluated; but crucial issues such as quality of nutrition (carotenoid, vitamins, amino acids, carbonhydrates), tastiness, digestibility and suitability for storage should be considered as well.

Chr. Hansen Denmark, global market leader for the production of lactic acid bacteria, offers several silage inoculants, that influence the above mentioned parameters positively.

Main focus during the selection of lactic acid bacterial strains is the capacity to inhibit yeasts in a homofermentative way, without increasing the concentration of acetic acid. Tastiness, digestibility as well as storage stability after opening will thus be improved.
