jbs yeast uls combines the effects of probiotic live yeasts with a patented mycotoxin binding premix.
During production, the cells of this live yeast, actisaf, are coated with a layer of inactive yeasts. This is important in order to keep the live yeast inactive until it reaches the intestines and to thus protect it from air and moisture.
The patented mycotoxin binding premix, ultrasorb, binds endotoxins and ammonia – in addition to mycotoxins –, thus protecting the pigs‘ liver and immune system.
Both components are mixed into jbs yeast uls and are fed with 5 - 10 kg per tonne of feed as non-pelleted supplementary feedingstuff.

Another way for harmful microorganisms and mycotoxins to enter the animals‘ metabolism is in the barn (f. e. through beddings like straw).
jbs yeast uls can be used at all stages of pig production:
- sows
- piglets from weaning up to a live weight of 30 kg
- porkers
Especially during farrowing, the sow‘s health is the key criteria for success.
A large number of weaned piglets requires optimum supply and concentration of nutrients. Not only the feed plays an important role in this, but especially the conversion of nutrients in the intestine. This settles, whether the nutrients that have been fed will actually reach the pig‘s metabolism and can be transfered into performance.
Constipation results in a higher permeability of the intestinal wall for bacteria and toxins. This lowers the immune defense and abets infections such as f. e. MMA. Actisaf ensures optimum functioning of the intestine.
Numerous trials have shown the positive effects of actisaf in pig farming.
